Nadia Ellis Russell is from Kingston, Jamaica, where she studied literature at the University of the West Indies. She recently completed a master's degree in literature at Oxford University. Before coming to England, she taught high school English in Jamaica for a year. She is married to Stephen Ellis Russell, who is doing graduate studies in Hebrew at Oxford.
