Saba Bireda currently works for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund in New York City. A 2001 graduate of Stanford University, she concentrated on issues of race in American politics and contemporary African American writing. Before transitioning to her research position at the Legal Defense Fund, she wrote for Newsweek, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Louisville Courier-Journal. Saba is a semi-proud native of the Sunshine State (Florida, that is).
