poignant--the one that focused only on the survivor's arm, which
bore the scars of cutting. To break the portrait mold and focus
on such a specificity was perfect. I think too often when one thinks
of physical abuse the violence is locked in the past. This photo
(and others in the series) showed that the violence continues, even
if it is re-inscribed by the survivor." --Ben
