Cancer resources on the Web

The Association of Cancer Online Resources (ACOR) offers access to more than 125 e-mail lists and hosts a number of Web sites for cancer patients, supporters, and caregivers.

Support is available for about 60 forms of cancer, ranging from more common types such as breast cancer or lung cancer to extremely rare kinds such as leiomyosarcoma. There are also e-mail groups devoted to young cancer patients, parents of children with cancer, and religious approaches to coping with cancer, as well as cancer-related topics such as investigational drug trials and the Human Genome Project.

You can add your name to an e-mail list for any of the groups for free at ACOR's Web site. Or, even without joining, you can find information by doing a keyword search of the mailing lists' archives.

Daily information about developments in cancer research can be found at the Yahoo News Full Coverage site on Cancer Research.
