As the term "racial profiling" becomes more popular, it is being used in some innovative ways: Entertainment profiling. African American, Asian American, American Indian, and Latino civil rights activists have used the term to describe how white Hollywood is in front of and behind the camera, and how depictions of racial minorities on film or television are simplistic and full of stereotypes. Athletic profiling. In an Associated Press sports article from June of last year, a former U.S. Olympic Committee official alleged that one drug test for athletes used a protocol that amounted to "racial profiling." Puffy profiling. Lawyers for Sean "Puffy" Combs accused the prosecution of engaging in racial profiling during jury selection. The assistant district attorney allegedly was dismissing potential jurors because they were African American or Latino. The judge disagreed. (The jury of twelve ended up being half black, half white.)
