Your journal has a courageous, vibrant life of its own and for this I commend you. The living soul of your journal has inspired and consoled many hearts and minds, perhaps more than you realize.—Michigan reader and donor (name withheld at her request)

InTheFray Magazine keeps publishing thanks to the generous support of readers like you. If you value independent journalism and enjoy reading “stimulating and provocative” articles on issues of identity and community, please consider giving back.

Individual donations are our lifeblood, accounting for the vast majority of our funding every year. Every small amount helps. Every donor is recognized on this page (or anonymously, if you prefer). And every dollar donated to the magazine goes to the work we do — that is, publishing the magazine, paying our writers and artists, and spreading the word about InTheFray.

Please note that In The Fray, Inc., the organization that publishes InTheFray Magazine, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN/tax ID number: 04-352-0135), so all donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by U.S. federal law. Here is our nonprofit report on Guidestar. If your employer has a program to match donations made to nonprofit organizations, our staff can help you with the paperwork and provide any information that is needed — just let us know. Many companies match donations, and this is an easy way to double the amount of your contribution.
SPECIAL OFFER: Readers who make a donation of US$30 or more can opt to receive an InTheFray coffee mug in the mail.* If you want a coffee mug, please email us to let us know that you want one and where we should mail it.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

You can make contributions online using a credit card or bank account. We recommend that you donate through Google Checkout or PayPal.com. If you use PayPal, you do not need a PayPal account to donate, and PayPal gives you the option of making one-time donations or recurring monthly ones. We also support payments via JustGive.org. Please note that all of these online payment services charge a service fee — typically about 3 percent — for donations made through them. For example, if you made a $100 donation via PayPal, InTheFray would receive $96.80.

Another option is to mail us a check. Please make the check payable to “In The Fray, Inc.” Our mailing address is:
In The Fray, Inc.
113 Schumacher Dr.
New Hyde Park, NY 11040-3644
NOTE: We typically list the full names of our donors at the bottom of this page. If you would prefer to be listed anonymously or under a different name than what you provided with your donation, please email us using this form. Also, if you want a website to be listed along with your name, please let us know.

We email semiannual updates about the magazine to our donors. You can unsubscribe or change your subscription at any time by using the links in those email updates, or by contacting us with your request. InTheFray is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our readers and donors. You can read our privacy notice in its entirety here.

The Editors

*It generally costs InTheFray $4-6 to ship a coffee mug to a destination within the continental United States; this amount is included in the $30 donation. If you make a donation and receive an InTheFray mug, under U.S. Internal Revenue Service guidelines the amount of the donation that is deductible for federal income tax purposes is limited to the excess of your donation over the fair market value of the mug, which is $2. In other words, you can deduct the amount of your donation minus $2 from your taxes. For donations of $41.50 or more, however, under IRS guidelines the estimated value of the item received (i.e. the mug) is not substantial, so in that case you may deduct the full amount of your donation from your taxes.

HONOR ROLL

We would like to thank the following donors for their kind and generous support of the magazine and its mission to build a world of greater tolerance and understanding. Without your help, this magazine would not be possible.

As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of the war. —Abraham Lincoln, U.S. president
