The Annual East Coast Mini-Conference — co-sponsored by the National Press Club — is in the nation's capital this year with Len Downie, Executive Editor of The Washington Post, and Ken Paulson, Executive Editor of USA Today, as special guests in a conversation about the state of journalism. The talk will be at 11 a.m. and address ways trusted journalists are advancing news reporting while chasing the more elusive reader.

Confirmed Sessions: 2008 Election: Jim Vandehei, executive editor of The Politico, Nik Deogun, deputy Washington bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal, and Edwin Chen senior White House correspondent for Bloomberg News, will be part of a panel talking about what it takes to make your coverage stand out in an election that has already started. There will also be sessions about online media and broadcast. The closing event will be a discussion about blogging and the 360-degree reporter. This discussion will be headed by the technology editor of The Washington Post, Yuki Noguchi. A full schedule will be posted soon. A buffet lunch is included with registration.
