Emily Raij is a native of Chicago, where she received her bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She now lives with her husband and dog in Gainesville, Florida, where she is a production manager/editor for Maupin House, a family-owned publisher of language arts and writing resources for K-12 teachers. She has freelanced for various publications, focusing mainly on children with special needs. In her free time, Emily likes to travel to Chicago or anywhere else she can visit family and friends. Her articles are posted on her personal Web page.
