Laura Elizabeth Pohl
Editorial Board
Laura Elizabeth Pohl is back in Seoul, South Korea, where she is photographing the daily lives of North Korean defectors, but where she previously covered the financial markets as a businesswire reporter. In the two year transition to photographer from writer, Laura studied photojournalism in graduate school at the University of Missouri, learned to sail on Lake Superior, road tripped to parts of the U.S. she'd never seen before, and met many wonderful people along the way.

It's in the act of having to do things that you don't want to that you learn something about moving past the self. Past the ego. —bell hooks, black feminist social critic
